Description |
EMC Double Checksum software provides an end-to-end safeguard against data corruption by re-checking Oracles data validation before data is written to EMC Symmetrix systems.
Heres how it works: The Oracle system assigns a checksum (a unique identifier) to each write request. Upon receipt, the EMC Symmetrix system calculates a double check, comparing it to the Oracle information. If the checksums match, the information is written to disk. If not, the information will not be written to disk. Instead, you receive an alert signaling you to avoid or resolve the problem—thus minimizing downtime and associated costs.
